Biography

Birth

Joseph Morrill was born at Brentwood, New Hampshire, on 15 Dec 1787, the son of Levi Morrill and Bathsheba (Johnson) Morrill.^[1][2]

Marriage

Joseph Morrill married Jane Mace at Readfield, Maine (then in Massachusetts) on 26 Dec 1809.^[1][3]

Military Service

Joseph Morrill served in the militia company of Captain William Morrison from Livermore, Maine (then in Massachusetts), in 1814 during the War of 1812.^[4][5]

Death

Joseph Morrill died in 1838, and he is buried at the Spring Hill Cemetery in Palmyra, Maine, where his gravestone gives his birth date as 1785. The cemetery record identifies him with the Joseph Morrill who served in the Livermore militia in 1814.^[4]
