Biography

In 1841, one year after the death of her husband, William ROBERT Evenden, i.e. Robert Evenden (1779-1840), in Feb 1840[1] [1], Ann Morris Evenden (65) was living in District 9, Snoad Hill, Bethersden, Kent, England. Thomas Pile (40), Jane Pile (35), Elisabeth Pile (13), Elisar Pile(11), Robert Pile (8), Mary Button (3) and Frances Taylor (65) appear to be living in the same household. Jane Evenden Pile was the daughter of Ann Morris Evenden. (There is a 5 year discrepancy in Jane's estimated year of birth (1801 vs 1806). Richard Pile (15) appears to be living adjacent or near-by in the Edward Small home and working as an agriculture laborer.[2][2]

In 1851 Ann Evenden (75) is living with her daughter Mary Evenden (1804-) (43) in the Calehill area of West Ashford District in Ashford, Kent, England. Six additional people are also living in the household (relationships not shown).[3][3]

In 1861 Ann (85) continues to live in the home of her daughter Mary Evenden Houghton. Mary's daughter, Sarah Houghton Hayward (31) and Mary's grandson, William Hayward (37), and a cousin of Mary's, Fanny Bishopp (23), 1 servant , 1 lodger, and 2 boarders are also living in the household.[4][4]

Ann Evenden died in 1863 and was placed at rest in Maidstone, Kent, England on 2 Aug 1863.[5][5]

Research Notes

BIRTH: 1776 vs 1778 The England Census for 1841 and 1851 and 1861 appear to estimate year of birth to be 1776. An actual birth/baptismal record is needed to resolve discrepancy.

DEATH: Jul or Aug 1863

The burial record shows that she was buried on 2 Aug 1863.
A substantiating record showing accurate date of birth is still needed
