http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.morrison/1166.1.1.1/mb.ashx My research has shown that Edward and Tabitha Morrison had seven children: 1. Catherine (Caty) Morrison, m. James William Hitt 9-24-1798 in Fauquier Co., VA per John K. Gott book "Fauquier County, Virginia Marriage Bonds (1759-1854) and Marriage Returns (1785-1848)'. 2. Thomas Morrison, b. 3-21-1788 in Fauquier Co., m. Mary "Polly" Ellis 2-8-1816 in Fauquier Co. 3. James W. Morrison, b. 1792 in Fauquier Co., m. Lydia, d. 1850 in Boothsville, Harrison Co., VA (now WV). In the book, Family Stories & Bible Records of Central WV - Extracts from Clarksburg Exponent Telegram - April thru Sept 19, 1932, by Lolita A. Guthrie, page 12, there is an article about a Mrs. Margaret Davis Roach which was written by Wilbur C. Morrison, son of Isham Alexander Morrison and Grandson of David Morrison. In the article, it says that Mrs. Roach's husband, George, had a sister, Susan S. Roach, who married Andrew Jackson Morrison, 27, a son of James and Lydia Morrison, who had come from the same county in Virginia and settled about the same time in Boothsville, while David Morrison, brother of James, settled on Crooked Run near Adamston. According to the book, Genealogical and Personal History of the Upper Monongahela Valley, W. VA, Vol II, page 700, James Morrison, a cabinet-maker, came to West Virginia during the early years of the nineteeth century, and settled at Boothsville, near Bridgeport, Harrison County. It details his son, Andrew Jackson Morrison, and further generations. 4. Sarah Morrison, b. between 1790 and 1794 in Fauquier Co., m. Samuel Conner 10-12-1810 in Fauquier Co. In 1818, Samuel Conner was arrested for being in debt $120. His father-in-law, Edward Morrison, paid the debt. 5. David Morrison, b. 11-22-1795 in Fauquier Co., m (1) Sarah Ellis 12-27-1814 in Fauquier Co., m (2) Nancy Wyne 7-18-1840 in Fauquier Co., m (3) Elizabeth C. (Lawrence) Cockrell 5-6-1862 in Harrison County, WV, d. 7-3-1882 in Hepzibah, Harrison Co, West Virginia. In the book, A Reminiscent History of Northern West Virginia, a biography of David's son, Nimrod Russell Morrison, states that N. R. Morrison "was born in Fauquier County, Virgiani, in 1846, the youngest of ten children, born to David and Nancy (Wines) Morrison, natives of that county also, where they resided until 1847. They then came by wagon to Harrison County, being thirteen days on the road, and located on Crooked Run, but a number of years later removed to Lambert's Run, where Mr. Morrison died in 1882, aged eighty-nine years. .. His father, Edward Morrison, was probably an old countryman. The marriage license of David Morrison and his third wife, Elizabeth Cockrell, of which I have a copy, lists his parents as Edward and Tabitha Morrison. 6. Mary (Polly) Morrison, b. in Fauquier Co, m. Lorenzer Elkins 8-5-1810 in Fauquier Co. 7. Nancy Morrison, b. 12-11-1799 in Fauquier Co., m. Benjamin Todd 2-14-1816 in Fauquier Co., d. 6-11-1868. Her father, Edward Morrison, was the bondsman for her marriage to Benjamin Todd. She died 6-11-1868 in Muskingum Co., OH.
