Biography

Samuel was born to Samuel and Sarah Star Morse on Sept. 30, 1718 ^[1]

Samuel Morse and Catherine Clark were married in Medfield on February 1, 1759^[2]

• Samuel, b. Nov. 30, 1759, m. Esther Woodward of Newton
• William, b. Aug. 31, 1761, died at Saratoga in 1830
• Thaddeus, b. Aug. 31, 1763, m. Cynthia Clark in 1792
• Catherine, b. July 22, 1765, m. Silas Wheeler of Hubbardston
• Sarah, b. Aug. 14, 1767
• Joses, b. Dec. 9, 1770, suffered a severe head injury, lived with assistance until 1851.
• Nathan, b. Feb. 2, 1779, m. Eunice Cleaveland in 1810, removed to Warwick

In 1779, Samuel sold his Medfield place and removed to Hubbardston.

Samuel Morse died in Hubbardston on April 20,, 1787, aged 68 years, 7 month, 21 days. His widow Catherine lived on in Hubbardston until Jan. 17, 1813, dying in her 77th year.^[4]
