Biography

Edward was born in 1856, the son of John Chalmers Morton. ^[1]

He was christened on 10 August that year in Kings Stanley, Gloucestershire.^[2]

He went to Harrow School, leaving in 1875. He went up to St John's College, Cambridge, graduating in 1880. He was called to the Bar in the Inner Temple in 1885 and became MP for Devonport in 1892. He was secretary of the Home Rule Union.^[1]

While at Cambridge he was President of the Union in 1879.^[3]

He died in 1902 in Gloucestershire.^[4]
