Jonathan Mott was a United Empire Loyalist. UEL Status:Proven Date: Undated
Jonathan Mott was born 12 November 1703 in Kings Towne, The Narraganset Country (became Kings County in 1729, then Washington County in 1781), the Colony of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations. His parents were John Mott and Elizabeth (last name at birth unknown). They also had the following chlldren:
Jonathan married Hannah (LNAB unknown) sometime before 17 December 1731, when son Edward was born. Other children of Jonathan and Hannah born in Rhode Island were:
Abigail, born 12 September 1734, in Westerly, Rhode Island, British Colonial America.[2]
Henry, born 1755 in Poughkeepsie, Duchess County, Province of New York. United Empire Loyalist. Proof of Loyalty: UEL List.[4]
Reuben Mott, born 1758 in Poughkeepsie, Duchess County, Province of New York.
Occupation: Farmer
Event: Residence #1: 1736 Westerly, Washington, Rhode Island, USA.
Event: Residence #2: 1744 Wallingford Township, New Haven County, Connecticut Colony. It is possible this residence and date were chose by the birth of Simeon Mott, son of Jonathan Mott and Hannah (Bailey) on 7 October 1744. Jonathan and Hannah had just married 11 months earlier on 10 November 1743. It is far more likely that Simeon was the son of newly married Jonathan and Hannah of Wallingford than Jonathan and Hannah of Rhode Island, with no other evidence of their residence in Wallingford.
Event: Residence #3: 1779 Kings District, Albany, New York, USA., Kings District Tax List
Has Children Simeon Sr. MOTT b: 7 OCT 1744 in Wallingford Township, New Haven, Connecticut - see Residence #2 note above. Believe not the son of this Jonathan.
Has Children Henry "U.E.L." MOTT b: 1755 in Poughkeepsie, Dutchess, New York
Jonathan himself, U.E. - resettled in St. John, New Brunswick. Proof of Loyalty: NYGBS V.38, N.2, April 1907.[5]

I detached Hannah Bailey-9529 as wife/mother. That Hannah married first, John Wood, then second John Weaver and was born/died in East Greenwich. I tried to find parents for your Hannah Bailey but was unsuccessful.
