Biography
Loftus was born in 1829 at sea in the I Dian Ocean between the Cape of Good Hope, South Africa and Bombay, India. He was the son of John Grenfell Moyle and Eliza Jane Guillemond. [1]
He completed his education at St Edmund Hall, Oxford, on 22 June 1848, aged 18 years. [2]
