Patrick was born about 1861. He was the son of Owen Mulvihill and Sarah Burke.
He met and married Mary Cran (Crann?) in the RC Church of Elphin, Roscommon, Ireland on Sept 27, 1891. Witnesses to this marriage were James Egan and Anne Regan.
In the 1901 Census the family is found residing in house 8 in Edenan and Kinclare (Mantua, Roscommon) and consisted of Patt (40), Mary (34) and their children Owen (8), Bridget (10), Tom (6) and Celia (5). They also have a boarder Thomas Igo (60) who was a joiner. Patt's occupation is as a farmer.
In the 1911 Census the family is found residing in house 13 in Edenan and Kinclare (Mantua, Roscommon) and consisted of Patrick (50), widower and his children Owen (19), Bridget (17), Thomas (13) & Celia (11). All children are single and the record indicates that Patrick and Mary had 6 children with 5 surviving by 1911 and that they had been married for 12 years (~ 1891) upon the passing of Mary.
Patrick passed away in Edenan & Kinclare, Mantua, Roscommon, Ireland on Dec 17, 1940, age 76 with his son Michael Mulvihill (8 Gratton Tee, Galway) present at his death.
