Lois M. Flammang Lois M. Flammang, 80, of Bellingham, died Friday, October 2, 2009 at her home surrounded by family and loved ones. Lois was born August 8, 1929 to Daniel and Avis Mulvihill, in Minot, ND, where she graduated from Minot High School. She married shortly thereafter, and gave birth to son Daniel (1948), and daughter Mary (1950). She and husband LeRoy moved to Whitefish, MT where their daughter Roxanne (1952) was born. The family moved to TX in 1960 where LeRoy was employed by the US Border Patrol. In 1963, the family moved to Blaine, WA. After LeRoy's retirement in 1980, they spent much of their time traveling. They began the snowbird lifestyle, spending winters in CA and AZ, and summers in Whatcom county. They finally settled in Casa Grande, AZ for their permanent winter home. After LeRoy passed away in 2000, she continued to travel, going on cruises and road trips. This year, she met and fell in love with Chuck Schwarzenbacher, to whom she was engaged. In July, she became ill with cancer. Lois is survived by her son, Dan Flammang and wife Judi Joyner, of Blaine, daughter Mary Huntley and husband Bob Stevens of VT, and daughter Roxanne Milne and husband Mike Milne of Seattle, WA. She is slso survived by granddaughters Natalya Maybo, of MA, Caroline Milne of Seattle, and Laura and husband Nicholas Meaux of Seattle, and fiancé Chuck Schwarzenbacher, of WI. She was pre-deceased by her parents, Dan and Avis Mulvihill, brothers Frank and George Mulvihill, and husband LeRoy P. Flammang. The family wishes to thank all the caregivers who helped her during her illness, including the staff at Ferndale Family Medical Center, the staff at Peace Health, the wonderful people from Whatcom Hospice, the family friends who provided food and support, and especially to her friend and neighbor, Elizabeth Suel, who gave so much of her time and energy to comfort and care for Lois and her family. She is an angel on earth. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Anne Catholic Church at 604 H St, in Blaine, at 11:00 Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2009. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Hospice House, or the Diabetes Society.
