Biography

Samuel Muncy (Muncey) was born about 1810 - probably in the area of Virginia that was Giles county at the time of his birth. I do not know who is his father, uncles, cousins, even grandfather. But in the Annals of Southwest Virginia by Lewis Preston Summers, there were many men with the name of Muncey: Francis, Jeremiah, William, Luke, Skidmore, Abediah, Holton, Jno., Nathaniel and Samuel, Sr. page 1710. Samuel married Sarah Chapman on October 22, 1835^[1]. By the time of the 1850 census Samuel is not listed in the household^[2]. In the 1860 census Sarah is listed as a widow^[3]. He passed away about 1847^[4].
