Research Notes
Birth: Approximate date of birth is from 1851 census record where his age is recorded as 26 years.
Death: He is listed as deceased on his son's (John Joseph Murphy) marriage certificate on 26 Jan 1881. So he died before 1881 but likely much earlier since he doesn’t show up in any census after 1851 and his son John Joseph was living with his maternal grandmother in 1861.
Why didn't they marry in a Catholic church? Their children were baptised Catholic. Was Sarah CofE?
