Biography

William was born in 1774. He died in 1875 at the age of 100 - 101.

He was a Revolutionary War soldier.

William was married two times.

Spouse #1: Martha "Jennie" (Routt) Myers 1780 - . They were married 6/27/1797 in Bourbon, Kentucky. Per Kentucky, County Marriages, 1797 - 1954. Findagrave #76623179 (no cemetery)

Spouse #2: Jane (Makemson) Monroe, Myers 1798 - abt. 1874. They were married 5/26/1827 in Pendleton, Kentucky. Per Kentucky, County Marriages, 1797 - 1954. She was 1st married to George T. Monroe & they had 2 children. Findagrave #76628660

A letter written by his great grandson wrote that he had attended William's funeral in Missouri. He said there was a big crowd and that William was 101 years old.

Husband of Jane Makemson, married 5/27/1827 in Pendleton County, Kentucky.

When William married Jane, she was a widow with two children. Bond date was 5/25/1827. Bondsman was Robert Makemson. The were marriedby Alexander Monroe (George Monroe's father).

William was appointed guardian of John & Thomas Monroe (children of George T. Monroe & Jane Makemson) 9/1827.
