1850 Census Malone, Franklin, NY, USA Josiah is living with his father Edward Nason.

Josiah's last name was written as Nashen in the 1860 US Census. [1]

Josiah's father brought him to Chasm Falls (outside of Malone) in 1845 at age 5 [3]

With his dad, Josiah purchased property at Chasm Falls in 1867 and they built and operated a saw mill until his father passed and he became sole owner. He lived out his life on that property. His obit says he died at his home on the west side of Chasm Falls. [2]

Josiah Nason had a saw mill on the Winslow brook. [3]

Josiah's ocupation was listed as farmer on his enlistment papers. [3]

Josiah enlisted as a Pvt in the 26th Cav Co L Feb 1865, discharged July 1865, served a bit more than 4 Mo., birth place listed as Canada, residence listed as Malone. [3]
