- daughter Susan Neale, age 7, born in Royston
- daughter Alice Neale, age 2, born in Royston
He married Emily Whipps in 1874 in the district of Pancras, Middlesex. [3]
In 1881 they were living on Victoria Road, St Pancras, Middlesex. The family consisted of: [4]
- head Benjamin Neal, age 29, worker in colour factory, born in Royston
- wife Emily Neal, age 28, born in Little Saling, Essex
- son Benjamin Neal, age 5, born in Camden Town, Middlesex
In 1891 he was working as an artist colourman. The family was now living on Alma Street, St Pancras. In addition to Benjamin and Emily, the children listed were Henry W (16), Benjamin (15), Herbert John (10), Emily Mary Ann (7), Rose (5), Ernest (2) and Ethel (0). [5]
