Donald LeRoy Neely was born 16 May 1914 in Mt Carmel, Wabash, Illinois. He was the son of Benjamin Neely and Ellen Anthis. [1]
In 1920, the Neely family was living at 918 Cedar St., Mount Carmel, Illinois and included parents Benjamin and Flora Ellen with their five children: Lester, Rosa Pearl, Raymond, Donald and Dwight. Ben was working in car repair for the railroad. [2]
The family was at the same house in Mount Carmel in 1930. The Census lists Benjamin and "F Evelyn" (Flora Ellen) with kids Raymond, Donald and Dwight.[3]
Donald married Verna Mae Little, before 1944. They had a daughter, Judy Neely, birthdate unknown so far.
Donald was in the Navy 29 Mar 1944 to 10 Dec 1945 during WW II.
Donald married Vivian Allene (Smith) Thatcher in 1958.
Donald's father Benjamin, died in 1966 and his mother, Flora Ellen, died in 1968.
Donald died 18 Oct 1989 in Sangamon County, Illinois. He was buried in Camp Butler National Cemetery, Springfield, Sangamon county, IL.[1]
