Biography

Margaret was born before 1527, probably at Snape Castle, Yorkshire, England. She was the daughter of John Neville and Dorothy De Vere. No birth record for her has been found to date. Authors cannot agree on her birth year, however it seems to have taken place between 1525 and 1527, when her mother died.^[1][2] Her father married Kateryn Parr after 1534. Margaret seems to have become close to her stepmother.

After John Neville's death Kateryn Parr seems to have taken charge of her upbringing. When Kateryn married Henry VIII, Margaret joined the Queen's household as her daughter.^[3]

Death and Probate

Margaret died at the end of March 1546, unmarried and without issue. She left a will which was written on 23 March 1545/6 and was proved on 29 March 1546 at the Prerogative Court of Canterbury.^[4]
