Biography
Robert was born in 1837. He was the son of Robert Newman and Luvinia Carpenter.
He was a Civil War veteran, enlisting in company F of the 56th Virginia Infantry on 26 July 1861 where he principally served as a wagon/ambulance driver for the duration of the war.
He passed away in 1904.
