Biography

Samuel was baptised on 25 February 1715 in Topsfield, Essex, Massachusetts. He was the son of John Nichols (1667-1762) and Mary (Goldthwaite) Nichols (abt.1681-1761).[1]

Samuell married Abigail (Elliot) Nichols (1719-1759) on 17 November 1742 in Middleton, Essex, Massachusetts.[2]

Samuel's wife Abigail died on 27 May 1759 in Middleton, Massachusetts. [3] Samuel married Anna White on 26 May 1760 in Danvers, Essex, Massachusetts.[4][5][6]


57 Samuel, b. Feb. 25, 17 14-15 ; m. Nov. 17, 1742, Abigail Elliot, who d. May 27, 1759 1 2d, Anna White. This Samuel was the father of Dea. John and Major Andrew Nichols, who were both grandparents of Dr. Andrew Nichols, a physician of Danvers. A genealogy of the Nichols family, written by Mr. Andrew Nichols, son of Dr. Andrew (Essex Inst. Coll,, Vol. Ill, p. 29), has furnished part of the data of this account. [7] p. 64
