Elizabeth was born in 1860.[1] She was the daughter of Thomas Nichols and Martha Johnson. She passed away in 1904.[2] She is buried in the Daylesford Cemetery, Victoria.[3]
Elizabeth married her first cousin, Nicholas McCann.[4]. The marriage certificate records that he was a farmer at Teven Creek, the marriage conducted by the rites of the Presbyterian Church. The notice of marriage in the local newspaper read:
Marriages.
McCANN — NICHOLS — At the Manse, Lismore, on the 27th Oct., by the Rev. W. F. Fraser, M.A., Nicholas McCann, farmer, Teven Creek, to Elizabeth, eldest daughter of the late Mr. Thomas Nichols, of Ballarat, Victoria.[5]
Nicholas and Elizabeth had three children before Nicholas was killed in a timber getting accident in 1889.
