Biography

Member of Congregational Church Additional information from Aunt Betty's research: "Anna Margretha was said to be a beautiful young girl. These people were all Lutherans The family home was Borre, Iylland. Hans Peter Neilson was a land owner, and had a shoe factory which employed six helpers. They had 11 children. Six died and four came to America. They are Nels Nelson, Hans Madsen Nelson, Anna Margrethe, and Theodora Christina Dam. Nels Nelson was born May 9, 1843 and died January 30, 1926, in Wichita, Kansas."^[1] There are several different spellings of Ane and Margroda. Also Nelson, Neilson and Nelsen. My mother mentioned to me that the family did not use the "sen" ending for Nelson, but probably thought they were Americanizing it by spelling it Nelson.^[2]
