Biography

Johanna Nilsdatter (Norton) was born in Kalmar län, Sweden in 1869. She moved to the United States in 1882. She married Sidney Heazlitt around 1887. They lived in Iowa in 1889, in Rush River, North Dakota, in 1900, and in Grand Forks, North Dakota, at least 1910-1930. They had three children. She died in 1933 and was buried in Memorial Park Cemetery, Grand Forks.

Johanna's name and marital history have not been worked out for this entry. The "Other Heazlitt Branch" has her as Johanna Maria Desideria Nitsdatter. ALLFAM-2 lists her as Johanna E. Stearus Norton. Probably most reliable is http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=24856089 which has Johanna Maria Desideria Nilsdatter (Norton) Heazlitt. Her brother was listed as Edward Norton in 1900. (Nils- vs. Nits- is not an error here, but no doubt one of them was in a source.)
