He was married in Gimsøy, Vågan 18 Jul 1858, 31 years old[1] He was said to have been born in "Boe" parish and his father was called Nils Olsen.

Research Notes
Combining "Boe" parish with Romsdal, could be Bud, Møre og Romsdal.
One Reiert Nilsen was confirmed from Vorpen in Bud, Møre og Romsdal 23 Oct 1842, 17 years old[4] His father was called Niels Torbersen (should be Torgersen)
This Reiert was born at Stakkestad, Førdesfjorden, Avaldsnes, Rogaland 22 Feb and christened 6 Mar 1825[5]
"Tysvær-boka" says that his parents came from Underbakke, Rollag, Buskerud in the 1820s and left Førdesfjorden in 1831. This should be read as Undebakke, Uvdal, Buskerud.
"Uvdal-bok" says that the family then moved to Romsdal in 1834.
Reiert's brother Torger and their mother Guri Sebjørnsdotter lived at Vorpen, Bud in 1865[6]
