William was baptized 25 Aug 1811 at Cumbernauld^[1] He was the son of Alexander Nisbet and Mary Louden.

He married about Apr 1834 ^{[2] [3]} to Elizabeth Nesbit. She was born Edinburgh, Scotland and died 25 Nov 1901 of Senile Decay Lambton, Ontario, Canada at age 92. ^[4]
