Services for L D Nixon, 75, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wedne sday, February27, 2002, at Shackelford Chapel. Burial wil l follow in Morris ChapelCemetery. Mr. Nixon died Monday, F ebruary 25, 2002, at Baptist HospitalMemphis, TN. He was pr eceded in death by two sons, Dewey Wayne and LannyDee Nixon . Survivors include his wife, Myrtle Stanfill Nixon of Morr isChapel, TN; two daughters, Charlotte Webb of Henderson, T N and AnnEnglish of Hohenwald, TN; two sons, Danny Nixon o f Haynesville, LA andTommy Nixon of Enville, TN; three sist ers, Sara Cunningham of MorrisChapel, TN, Jo Wicker of Jone sboro, AR and Brenda Hanna of Milledgeville,TN; and one bro ther, Ray Nixon of Adamsville, TN. L. D. NIXON of Morris Chapel, 75, died Feb. 25, 2002 at Bap tist Hospitalin
Memphis.
Mr. Nixon worked as a Foreman for TVA for 30 years. He wa s born in
Adamsville and was a member of Morris Chapel Baptist Church , where he
served as a Deacon for 40 years. He was also a member of S altilloMasonic
Lodge for over 50 years, and a life member of V.F.W., wher e he was a
Quarter Master for 32 years. He was also a volunteer firem an for 15years,
a Hardin County Commissioner for 11 years and 5 months, an d a U.S. Army
Veteran World War II 3rd Army 94th Infantry Division.
He is survived by his wife, Myrtle Stanfill Nixon of Morri s Chapel;
two daughters, Charlotte Webb of Henderson and Ann Englis h of Hohenwald;
two sons, Danny Nixon of Haynesville, LA and Tommy Nixon o f Enville;three
sisters, Sara Cunningham of Morris Chapel, Jo Wicker of Jon esboro, AR,and
Brenda Hanna of Milledgeville; and one brother, Ray Nixon of
Adamsville. He had ten grandchildren and thirteen gr-grand children.
Services were held at 1 p.m. on Wed., Feb. 27, at Shackelfo rd
Chapel in Savannah. Burial followed at Morris Chapel Cemete ry in MorrisChapel.
