Note: At the age of 15 Robert joined the Presbyterian Church. He began his preparation for the ministry at Auburn, Kentucky and in 1880 he entered Lebanon College in Lebanon, Tennessee where he studied theology. He graduated in June 1883 and began his ministry in Bloomfield, Indiana. He moved to Macomb, McDonough County, Illinois in 1884. Robert and Emma moved to Austin, Texas. Robert and Emma had no children.
