Biography

When Sarah Emma Norton was born on March 29, 1850, in Georgia, her father, Thomas, was 21 and her mother, Marsha, was 20. She married Middleton D Sockwell on December 7, 1871, in Newton County, Georgia. They had six children in 20 years, John, Minnie, Lillie, William, Gertrude and Myrtle. She died on September 11, 1915, in Covington, Georgia, at the age of 65. Sarah is buried at Shiloh Cemetery, Covington, Newton County, Georgia.
