Elizabeth Nowlan was born about 1865, a daughter of John and Bridget Nowlan. Her birth was registered in Raymond Terrace, in the Colony of New South Wales.[1]
She married Carl Frederick Schipp (1851-1885) (known as Charles Frederick Schipp) in 1884 in or near Maclean.[2] She was almost certainly a sister of Catherine Nowlan who had married Carl's older brother Ferdinand (who was known as Frederick or Frank Schipp) in 1874 in which case two brothers married two sisters (although there are other possibilities).[3][4]
The couple lived and farmed at Taloumbi, Clarence River. They were married for just over year as Charles passed away 4 Nov 1885.[5] It seems they had no children.[6]
Her fate is unknown. She possibly remarried and died under another name.
Elizabeth (Nolan) Fitzhenry (1863-) Profile shows she was a daughter of John Nolan & Bridget Doherty but this is unsourced. Seems likely Elizabeth (Fitzhenry) Schipp & Elizabeth (Nowlan) Schipp have been conflated.

↑ The NSW civil birth records show no children born to this couple and this would appear to be correct.
Some researchers do show "Frederick Charles Schipp" and his wife Elizabeth Nowlan had a son, Frederick C Schipp, who married Lydia Catherine Murray in Auburn on 3 Aug 1923 and died in Auburn on 24 Jun 1975. However, the Fredrick Charles Schipp who lived and died in Auburn is almost certainly the son of Ferdinand and Catherine identified in Ferdinand's obituary published in 1932.See: 1932 'MR. FREDERICK SCHIPP.', Daily Examiner (Grafton, NSW : 1915 - 1954), 28 October, p. 4. , viewed 05 Dec 2019, http://nla.gov.au/nla.news-article192140796 A search for Schipp births registered in NSW between 1865 and 1885 on 27 Aug 2022 returned 18 results including two children born to Ferdinand and Catherine in Maclean (Annie Mary Schipp (1874), Catherine Schipp (1882)) and four children born to Frederick and Catherine in Maclean (Susannah Schipp (1876), Joseph Schipp (1878), Martin Schipp (1880), Frederick Charles Schipp (1885)). Presumably these were the children of his brother Ferdinand Schipp and his wife Catherine who was known as "Frederick" or "Frank" in NSW). See: Ferdinand Schipp (1848-abt.1932). Ferdinand's obituary also shows he and Catherine had six children-three daughters and three sons, the daughters being Mesdames George Kempnich (Bangalow), A. Ascoli (Palmers Channel) and A. Gray (Sydney) - and the sons, Messrs Joseph (Harwood) , Frederick (Auburn) and John (Maclean) as per the civil birth records. Source: 1932 'MR.
