Biography

Walter Henry Nugent was born 30 Oct 1894. He was the son of Henry Nugent and Leona Poitras. He was baptized 1 Nov 1894 at the Assumption parish in Grand Falls. His godparents were Napoléon Martin and Lizzie Anne Poitras. [1][2]

At the age of 20 he enlisted for service in WW1. His occupation was listed as butcher. He was 5' 41/2" tall and had light coloured hair, a fair complexion and blue eyes. [3]

He died of a gunshot wound to the abdomen 31 Dec 1915 at the age of 21 and is buried in the Bailleul Communal Cemetery Extension, Bailleul, Departement du Nord, Nord-Pas-de-Calais, France. [4][5]
