Frederick was born at Bergalia, near Moroya, NSW in 1912, the son of Frederick Nunan and his wife Eileen, nee Kennedy.
Frederick moved to the Territory of New Guinea around 1938. In 1941 he was manager of Mandres sawmill near Rabaul, operated by Carpenter & Co, when a worker died and he was charged with assaulting the native.[1] He was captured by the Japanese at Buka in Bougainville on 13 Mar 1942 and interned in Rabaul as a civilian prisoner. He died on board the "Montevideo Maru" when it was torpedoed and sunk off the coast of the Philippines on 01 Jul 1942.
He was not married.
