SISTER M. IMELDA O'HAGAN, O.S.D.
On Saturday, June 1, at 'Santa Sabina,' Strathfield, Sister Mary Imelda O'Hagan passed away at the age of 60 years, fortified by the rites of Holy Church and surrounded by her sisters in religion. The later years of her life were spent in great suffering, which she bore with saintly fortitude though almost to the end she took some slight share in the work of teaching which she loved so well. Her kindly manner, intellectual gifts and fine scholarship made her an ideal teacher, and far and wide to-day throughout the State the good seed sown so wiseiy by Sister M. Imelda in the various convents of the Order is bearing fruit a hundredfold. When the Dominican nuns came to Sydney under the patronage of his Eminence the late Cardinal Moran, she was one of the four Sisters sent to Strathfield from the mother-house, West Maitland; and those who came under the inspiriting and ennobling influence of Sister M. Imelda in the early days of 'Santa Sabina' not only regarded her attainments' with admiration, but looked upon her as an illustration of all that is so fine in a religious of the grand old Order of -Truth.'
