John O'Hea is listed here as born about 1809 in Ireland. No basis is provided for this date.
John O'Hea and Anne McCarthy had son Tim O'Hea, born in 1843 and baptised on 4 May 1843 in Ringrone, County Cork, Ireland.[1]
Research Note 1 - Timothy O'Hea VC
Some family trees suggest this person to be the Timothy O'Hea that won a Victoria Cross in Canada. However that is unlikely. (1) that Timothy was born in Schull, County Cork, which is 80 km from Ringrone and a long distance to go for baptism in 1843; (2) there is no record for that Timothy's parents and (3) records suggest he was born in June 1843 or in 1846, so would not have been baptised in May 1843 per this profile.
Research Note 2
There is a record for John O'Hea married Anne McCarthy on 28 Nov 1857 in Cloyne, Cobh, County Cork, Ireland. Witnesses were Justin McCarthy and Francis Barry.[2] It is not clear if this is the same couple, as the marriage is 14 years after birth of child.
Baptism record for Ann Hea on 23 Nov 1845 in St Michan's, Dublin, lists parents as Joannis Hea [John Hea] and Annae [Anne].[3] Listed in Family Search as same family, but that would be unlikely given different locations and common names.
