Daniel Ignatius O'Leary was born a twin brother to Jeremiah Michael O'Leary in Macroom, County Cork, Ireland on 8 October 1920. He was a son of Michael O'Leary and Margaret Hegarty. His birth was registered in Macroom in the fourth quarter of 1920.[1]
He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross while a Flight Lieutenant serving with 680 Squadron (photographic reconnaissance) in WWII. He retired from the Royal Air Force as a Squadron Leader on 8 April 1971.
Danny passed away in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire on 11 July 2009.[2] He was buried in Mill Hill Cemetery, Mill Hill, Barnet, London.[3]
