Biography

Mary "Polly" O'Bannon was born about 1778 in Salem, Fauquier, Virginia, now Marshall. She was the daughter of William O’Bannon and Nancy Anna (Neville) O'Bannon.

She married William Utterback on June 29, 1799 in Fauquier, Virginia. ^[1] The couple had at least two children: Nancy W. (Utterback) Jeffries, ^[2] and Porter Utterback. ^[3]

Research Notes

Some feel that her parents were William (O Bannon) O'Bannon and Ann (Neville) O'Bannon. Other family trees show her parents were P. H. and Josephine O’Bannon. ^[4]

It appears she died before 1813. The reasoning is that she is not mentioned in William O’Bannon’s will. However, her husband married his second wife Margaret Fencer in 1813.

Some sources show that her death was in 1824, this is reflected in a record for Nancy Anna Neville.
