Biography

There were at least three distinct families of Oaks living in Change Islands, Fogo, by 1820. Joseph and Mary, William and Amy, and John Oak, married to Mary[1]. James likely was born to one of these families, I'll assume that it was to John and Mary, since they were the only ones having shown to have children after 1821. But this is only a guess.
