Biography

Mary J. Oder was born on 16 Apr 1876 in Harrison County, Kentucky, United States, daughter of William Alexander Oder and Mary Catherine (Conrad) Oder.^[1]

In the 1880 census Mary J. Odor (age 4) was the daughter of Alexander Odor (33 farmer) and Mary C. Odor (23), with one brother, William (2). The family lived in the home of Alexander's father Barnett Odor (67, farmer) and his wife Hetta M. Odor (67) in Magisterial District 7 Berry, Harrison County.^[2]

Mollie J. Oder (16) married Veach Criswell (21, farmer) on 6 Sep 1892 in Harrison County.^[3] They had two children:

1. Lula May Criswell (1893)
2. Veatch Criswell (1896-1909)^[4]

In the 1900 census Molly J. Criswell (age 24) was the widowed daughter of Elexander Odor (52, farmer) in Magisterial District 7 Berry, Harrison County.^[5]

Mary Christwell married John C. Flora on 21 Oct 1901 in Campbell County, Kentucky.^[6] The couple does not appear to have had any children.

By 1909, the family had moved to Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, California, where Mary's son Veatch died in a drowning accident that February.^[4] In the 1910 census Mary Flora (age 34, dressmaker) was the wife of John Flora (33, laborer with oil company) in Los Angeles Assembly District 75, Los Angeles, California.^[7]

In the 1920 census Mollie Flora (age 43) was the wife of John C. Flora (43, pump man for Standard Oil) in Los Angeles.^[8]

In the 1930 census Mollie Flora (age 53, rooming house manager) was the wife of John Flora (53, oil well pump man) in Los Angeles (Districts 0251-0500).^[9]

In the 1940 census Molli Flora (age 63, lodging house manager) was the wife of Jack Flora(63, Granger Oil) in Los Angeles.^[10]

Mary died on 6 Apr 1957 in Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, California aged 80. She was buried in the Inglewood Park Cemetery in Inglewood, California.^[1][11]
