Biography

Mary Jane Odom was born in September of 1864 to John Armstrong Odom and Mary "Polly" (Curry) Odom. She is listed with her parents on both: the 1870 Census^[1] and the 1880 Census.^[2]

A marriage record is needed but sometime between 1880 and 1900 she married John? "Jesse" Hester (or sometimes listed as J.J. Hesters). She is listed with Jesse on the 1900 Census with three children (Mary, Charlie, and Carrie)^[3] in Irwin, Georgia. She is also listed with her husband on the 1910 Census with only Charlie and Carrie listed in their household.^[4] She is linked to Charlie T. Hesters by his Georgia Death Record in 1940^[5] and she is linked to Carrie Hesters Turner by her Florida Death Record in 1929.^[6]

Mary Jane passed away in February of 1938 and her parents; John Odom and Mary "Polly" Curry are listed on her death certificate.^[7]
