Thanks for the speedy response Christopher.

The question was how did you come up with the name Solomon. From years many have called him Rev. Solomon Seybert Odom. This came from a post long ago when someone abbreviated Revolutionary War Soldier Seybert Odom as Rev Sol. The below referenced census has him as Sabart Odom, corrected on Ancestry as Seybert. Source Citation Year: 1800; Census Place: Barnwell, South Carolina; Series: M32; Roll: 47; Page: 44; Image: 90; Family History Library Film: 181422

BTW I am a direct descendent of Seybert and have taken both a Y DNA and an Autosomal test.

Thanks Bill for the question. Are you asking why was he named Solomon or how do I know his first name was Solomon? If it is the 2nd question, then the 1800 US Census has his name listed as Solomon Seybert Odom in Barnwell, South Carolina. Sometimes you will just see him listed as Seybert Odom on other documents.

Would like to know where the Solomon came from?
