Private David Ogden Jr. served with Eastern Battalion, Morris County Militia, New Jersey Militia during the American Revolution.

David Ogden Jr. is a DAR Patriot Ancestor, A085719.

According to the Ogden Brothers book and many other family records: In the book, "Jerseymen in the Revolution" David Ogden is given as an express rider. He was entrusted by General Washington with important missions connected with the Army when encamped at Morristown. On one occasion he was ambushed by the English, and escaped by throwing himself on the side of his horse and galloping thru their mist. General Washington was a frequent caller at the Ogden home.
