Hello. You may remove me from the Scottish Clans. As highly fascinated as I am by Scottish Clans, I just don't have the time right now. I need to focus on providing resources for hundreds of Blacksher ancestors & relatives--I feel very alone in this endeavor, but they deserve to be recognized before someone tells me they don't exist--I get very frustrated and annoyed when people attempt to discredit our ancestors just because it does take a very long time to provide resources for all of them. As I'm sure you may have experienced the same time-consuming research that goes along with ancient ancestors especially. When I come across pertinent resources that another profile manager may not have found yet--I am happy to let them know and provide it for them--it is very satisfying for me to discover new resources for my ancestors & I know how it feels when someone trys to discredit or even suggest an ancestor should be removed, after I've spent years of extensive research regarding my family ancestors. Just venting, for no particular reason--hope you don't mind much. Ancestors for me, even ancient ones, have taken life in my thoughts as I get to know them & their history--it's hard to explain--do you feel the same?

Thank you for keeping in touch. I will be happy to contact you in the future when I am ready to join again, and more able to provide the time necessary to do it. It's good to know people who are interested in the Scottish Clans. We need each other when questions arise.

Take care and good luck in your endeavors.

Hello A,

My name is Sarah and I’m the Project Coordinator for the Scotland Project. As you may have heard, we have merged the Scottish Clans project into the Scotland Project. I am contacting you today to find out if you are interested in continuing with us under this new format. If you would like to go forward on the Scottish Clans Team, please reply and let me know which clans you have been working on or would like to work on. I look forward to hearing from you.

Best Regards,

Sarah Mason, Scotland PC

Note to visitors of my Profile: Please take the time to scroll down and click on "More Comments" at the bottom of this page for access to all of my original resources--especially in regards to surname Blackshaw/Blacksher/Blackshear origins. If you are a cousin or related kindred, you will find it interesting. Scroll down to June 26 and June 04, 2018; and all the way back to January 23, 2016.

My resources: I prefer to take the time and care to provide written resources along with a link to a specific page or pages versus a link to an entire book download. I do my best to provide relevant resources from books, citations, places of burial, etc., along with secure internet links if available. Personal family profiles include first-hand information as well.

I consider family genealogy to be a journey of discovery, and a way to learn about our ancestors, family, and extended family as a person.

Family genealogy should not, in my opinion, be treated as a Marathon or a pedestal for self-glorification; but we can be proud of their accomplishments, sympathize with their hardships, discern what is true, discard untruthful propaganda, and determine what is fact and what is fiction (and recognizing that sometimes so-called "myth" may be completely untrue or, in fact, partially true--or worse, wholly true but lacking tangible evidence for reasons that it once existed but was either destroyed, lost, or stolen). As Archaeologists say: "Absence of evidence does not constitute evidence of absence."

I have great respect for family and ancestors--it should be everyone's goal to preserve their integrity, and to learn from their history, so that we should not be ignorant of who they were or where they came from.

Thank you Susie for your kind words and for checking-in with me regarding the England Project. I took the time to review the Leaders of the England Project just now. I assume the "teams" you are referring to belong with one of the Leaders, and that I would need to choose a Leader? I noticed that most of the Leaders were born in England, except for one born in New Zealand. I was born in and live in the United States.

After reviewing the requirements of joining the England Project, because I don't live in England, I cannot be of much help that requires a great knowledge of England.

My main interest for joining the England Project goes back to the 1500's in Chester, England, and I was and still am gathering information regarding ancestors that lived there, and before that in Scotland. I presumed I could receive some help in my search, answer some of my questions, or attempt to collaborate with someone knowledgeable about that time and place.

I currently don't have the time to contribute to your England Project in the way that it appears you require--for me to work on profiles of people born in England--a place I know virtually nothing about except for family ancestors that I have personally studied extensively.

I understand that in order to receive a pre-1500's badge, which I need to do further research regarding ancestors, I need to do some clean-up work for you all. I'll have to postpone that for now. You may remove my England Badge if you wish. I'll check-in again when I'm ready to do the clean-up work that you require for me to receive the pre-1500's badge. I am just too busy at this time with other priorities.

Thank you.

P.S. I sent you an email of this same message, from your Wiki profile.

Thanks for the help. I too have the same resource I use for my Blackshear information along with the wills from their families through the Huggins and Blackshear lines. It’s time we got these families figured out straight. Thank you.
