Before his untimely death, Texas Jack became a legendary figure in the American Old West as a western showman performing dramas on the stage throughout the country, and was immortalized in dime novels published around the world.[1]

Research Notes

18 Jul 2019 Note:

  • I removed most of the contents of the middle name field (due to system errors) which was: M Baker Burwell. His mother's surname was Baker and his father's middle name was Burwell so both are possibilities. I found conflicting information from the sources I found so I kept Burwell. [4]

I'm certain that his middle name was "Baker." He's a distant collateral relative and I grew up with stories about him. There are also numerous online articles about the Wild West Show that give his full name.
