Biography

Deborah was born in 1692 in Barnstable, the daughter of Nathaniel Orris and Mary Ivet.^[1] She had two sisters: Susan born c 1691 and Jane born 1696.

Her father died on November 25, 1696, in Barnstable, just a month after Jane's birth.

Deborah was baptized on 23 May 1697 in Charlestown at age 5 and adopted by Jonathan Orris, likely Nathaniel's brother.^[2]

Her mother Mary Ivet Oris married Samuel Sturgis on October 14,1697 in Barnstable.^[3][4]

Deborah married Samuel Bacon in 1712 in Barnstable and they had five children born there.

Deborah died on May 24, 1721, in Barnstable, at the age of 29, and was buried in Cobb's Hill Cemetery.^[5] She was survived by her husband and children.
