Mrs. Alvis was born Nov. 5, 1910, a daughter of the late, Boone and Lily Osborne.
She had worked for Borden Mills and at the Charles Dewitt Byrd Post # 3382 of the VFW.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Houston Alvis; two brothers; and a daughter.
Survivors include her son, Ralph Alvis and wife, Anne of Andalusia, Ill.; four grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
