Biography

Dorothy was the daughter of Nathaniel Otis & Hannah (Thacher) Otis. She is a descendant of Mayflower Passengers John Howland and Elizabeth Tilley, and John and Joan (Hurst) Tilley, through her mother.

She was married three times: first to Asa Bigelow with whom she had Asa (1738-1754), Jonathan (1740), Dorothy (1742-1761), Sarah (1744), Otis (1747), Betty (1749-1752), Delight (1751-1754), Betty (1753) and Asa (May 12, 1755).

After the death of Asa, Dorothy married Isaac Day in 1762, who already had 7 children with Ann (Foote) Day. With Isaac, Dorothy a son, Charles.

Isaac died in 1765 and she married once again to Joseph Langrell.
