On September 21, 1750, in St Paul's Parish, Stafford county, Virginia, Sarah Overall married Joseph Powell. [1] Joseph was born circa 1725, and was too old to serve in the military at the onset of the American Revolutionary War, however, in 1783, he paid supply tax, in support of clearing the debts incurred by that war. For his patriotic service, Joseph is honored by the Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, as Ancestor #: A212395. DAR records indicate that his wife is Sarah Overall, and that application for membership in the Society have been made by the descendants of their daughter Elizabeth Powell, who married Thaddeus Dulin. Joseph Powell died before May 16, 1803, in Fairfax county, Virginia. [2]
Children of Elizabeth and Joseph are:
