According to Joyce Overman Bowman, a respected genealogist who has been researching the Overmans and related families for about 30 years, Jacob Overman Jr. and Rachel Newby did not have a daughter named Jane (or Jean as she is sometimes shown). Another researcher, Kathleen Overman Tobiasson, states that Jane Overman married George Boswell I, but her parents are unknown and no connection to Jacob and Rachel has been found.
