Children of Vice-Admiral Hon. Sir Charles Paget and Elizabeth Araminta Monck
The youngest son of the first earl of Uxbridge (1744-1812) and a brother of the marquess of Anglesea, Paget was a naval officer. From 1798 to 1801 he commanded ships-of-the-line. From 1804 to 1806 he sat for the rotten borough of Milborne Port.
A supporter of Prime Minister William Pitt, in 1806 he succeeded his elder brother Edward as member for Caernarvon Boroughs, which he represented for the next twenty years. He again sat for Caernarvon Boroughs in the reformed parliament, to 1835.
Paget was groom of the bedchamber from 1822 to 1837. He died at sea while on service in the West Indies.
