Biography

George was born on 16 November 1825 and christened on 18 December 1825 at Saint Mary, Battersea, London, England. He was the son of James Paice and Sarah Elizabeth Unknown.^[1]

In 1851 George was living with his mother, Sarah Elizabeth Paice, apparently a widow because his father James is not in the household. Also in the household are George's siblings Jane (age 21), Henry (age 15), and Sarah Ann (age 11).^[2]

George married Charlotte Sarah Roots on 29 June 1851 at Saint Dunstan, Stepney, London, England.^[3]

Their first child Emily Charlotte Paice was born 19 July 1852 and christened 19 September 1852 at Battersea, Surrey, England.^[4]
