Charles Jackson Paine III was the son of Charles Jackson Paine Jr and Edith Maude Paine. He was the brother of Roger Lee Paine and Julia Bryant (Paine) Parker. Charles was married to Alice Ives Whittemore. He was the step-father of Constance Ives Whittemore and Suzanne Whittemore. They lived on Old Road in Weston Mass. Charles was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross in WW2 for his service in Alaska in early 1942 as a B24 pilot. He earned his law degree later in life. He moved to Topsham ME after his wife passed in 1976. She is buried in the Paine family plot in Weston MA. His grandchildren called him Papaw and he was a caring and loving soul, lots of fun, very bright. He passed in Ocala FL in 1997. We miss him.
