Charlotte Parisien was a Canadian First Peoples and member of the Métis Nation.
Charlotte Parisien was born circa 1849 to Métis parents Jean Baptiste Parisien and Marguerite(unknown; sometimes called Destempt). Baptism took place at the Red River Settlement on 7 Oct 1849.[1]
Charlotte married Henry Thomas (son of Richard Thomas and Eleanor Thomas). At the time of the 1870 census of Manitoba, they were enumerated at St. Andrews, along with their daughter Marguerite.[2]
On 26 Oct 1875, Charlotte signed an affidavit claiming Métis scrip, which was issued on 22 May 1876.[3]
At the time of the 1881 census of Canada, Charlotte and Henry were enumerated at St. Andrews, along with six of their children: Margaret (10), Ellen (8), Louisa (7), Henry (6), Bella (5), and William (1).[4] In 1891, they were enumerated at Plessis (Fort Alexander) along with children Louisa (16), Henry (14), Isabella (13), William (11), and Robert (9), as well as married daughter Margaret (21) and son-in-law Andrew Louis (25).[5]
