Newspaper article: "Old Memories, Number Forty-Five. David Parker's Statement - Battle of Wyoming. -- The hero of this statement, or rather of the above event, David Parker, lived in the town of Ira, sixty years ago. He removed later to the west part of Middletown and remained some years. He afterwards returned to Ira where he died about forty years since. He was often at my father's house in West Tinmouth in my early childhood. He was a hale, genial, sociable old man, who rather delighted in talking over the story of his battles." <snip> David Parker, in his better days, was a large, supple man. He was far up in the eighties when he related to me his stories of the revolution. I was a boy of nineteen and engaged in teaching school near Birdseye [Rutland County, Vermont]. I met him one evening at the home of his son, Stukely, who lived in the same district. I asked him to give me his experience in the revolutionary war."
[The author, Orin L. Ray, was nineteen years old in about 1843].

Parker-42731 and Parker-26805 appear to represent the same person because: I mistakenly created a profile for David Parker when I had a different Source, that suggested he was born in 1758. I recently discovered his Rev War Pension Application where he stated he was born 1 Apr 1764, and that led me to discover the duplicate profile. Apologies to trouble you, but thank you for making the merge. ~ Paula King
